As CareFor Turns One Year, It’s Time to Look Forward as Well as Back

Almost exactly a year ago we changed our name to CareFor. This was because we wanted to emphasise that our business is all about people and care: those who give it, those who need it and those who need to organise and manage it. Yes, we use clever IT, but that’s just because it’s the best way to support all of those people.

The year has flown by and we’re delighted to announce that we now have a new website. The new CareFor site does a much better job of saying what we’re all about – software for people who care. It also shows how we help our customers run sustainable and compliant care businesses.

New Features and Enhancements

It’s not just been about changing our name. During the last year we’ve enhanced the Carer App to add new features and make it simpler to use. We’re in the process of rolling out an overhaul to the medication administration management functionality. This to simplify accountability and help care providers comply with CQC best practice guidelines.

We’re also making major improvements to the ‘Rounds’ functionality and launched a new Run Optimiser tool, specifically to help reablement teams save significant time and cost by automatically plotting the most efficient routes. Reablement is likely to become increasingly important as health and care services become better integrated.

A Growing Family

In our first year as CareFor the family of users has continued, including an exciting new partnership with Allerton Care, one of the UK’s largest providers of supported living accommodation.

Looking forward there are even more improvements to the CareFor tools in preparation. These will make life easier for everyone involved with domiciliary care. The new look Finance tab gives an indication of how we are making everything more streamlined and easier to use.

And finally, we’re pleased to announce that we are partnering with Headway Devon, a charity that helps people with brain injuries, as part of our Celebration of Care campaign. This seeks to highlight all of the incredibly valuable work that organisations and individuals in the care sector do day-in, day-out.
